#4: Jean Skirt (Part III)

I'm such a beginning sewer, I had no idea it would be this difficult!  I'm determined to teach myself, though.  It's alllllmost done, I just have to re do some parts and polish it up.  No picture yet, I want a nice surprise to show soon.

I'm using other clothes to compare patterns and stitching, and definitely learning a lot.  When this is done, it's going to be HOT.

What were your beginning crafts?  Any disastrous mistakes?

  1. i tried to make a rag quilt for my first craft.
it was such a pain in the butt, all of my stitches were off making the fabric pull weird in spots, plus i picked out the colors at like age 12 so they were really ugly by the time i finished it years later haha

recently a friend of mine and i tried to make those string lanterns, where you kind of paper mache' string or lace doilies around a balloon to make pretty outdoor/indoor hanging decoration... oh my gosh they ended up looking horrible. i used mod-podge and before it dried the balloon shriveled up and made it all deformed..

i hate how simple some tutorials make crafts look. when really it takes some skill!! haha
